Below is a summary of the classes offered based on their start date. Each course is at a different location. Pre-registration is required. Payment (cheque or cash) is by mail or at the downtown office (not at the dance locations). If you wish to come to the office, please call/email to make an appointment.

• LB1 = Latin-Ballroom Beginner 1: Cha Cha, Jive, Rumba, Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango
• LB2 = Latin-Ballroom Beginner 2: continuation of level 1
• Salsa1 = Salsa Beginner 1: Salsa
• SN1 = Salsa-Nightclub Beginner 1: Merengue, Bachata, Salsa
• SN2 = Salsa-Nightclub Beginner 2: continuation of level 1
• SN3 = Salsa-Nightclub Beginner 3: continuation of level 2
• WCS1 = West-Coast Swing Beginner 1: West-Coast Swing
• WCS2 = West-Coast Swing Beginner 2: continuation of level 1
• ECS1 = Swing Beginner 1: (East-Coast) single and triple-time Swing
• Lindy1 = Lindy Hop Beginner 1

Class status update: Oct 21

• Salsa 1: Sun 4:30pm - class registration closed
• Salsa 1: Mon 8:00pm - 2 more men with a little Salsa experience needed (no more women please)
• Salsa 1: Wed 8:00pm - class registration closed
• Swing 1: Wed 7:00pm - class registration closed

The cost (taxes included) of the above 1-hour classes for 7 hours are:

• $77 / person for 7 hours over 7 weeks ($11/h)
• $63 / person for past Toronto Dance participants ($9/h)
• $40 / person for repeating a class ($5.71/h) (cannot be combined with any other discounts)

Irish Step and Ceili Classes for Fall 2003

Have you admired the dancers in Riverdance or Lord of the Dance? Try it in the following class:

• Irish Children A: Recreational Irish Step and Ceili for children ages 5 to 7
• Irish Children B: Recreational Irish Step and Ceili for children ages 8 to 11
• Irish Step: Recreational Traditional and Riverdance style Irish Step dance
  - learn steps and use them in a routine with the use of feet and arms
• Irish Basic Technique: Recreational Irish Dance basic technique and Traditional steps
  - no use of arms

Due to a mix-up by the owner of the dance studio, we have to start our Irish Step classes on Sat Oct 4 instead of Sat Sep 13. Sorry about any inconvenience.

You may try single classes for $12 (please call before showing up). Payment is by cash or cheque only, via mail or downtown office.

Classes for September-November 2003

The cost (taxes included) of the above 1-hour classes for 9 hours are:

• $99 / person for 9 hours over 9/10 weeks ($11/h)
• $81 / person for past Toronto Dance participants ($9/h)
• $50 / person for repeating a class ($5.56/h) (cannot be combined with any other discounts)
• Drop-in fee is $15
  (please call before showing up)

The Toronto Dance ™ school currently uses up to 11 locations. Certain locations are used for certain classes. Please check the current class schedule to determine which locations are used. Click on the respective locations to get directions and see pictures of the building and dance hall.

• University Settlement Recreation Centre (University & Dundas) - group dance lessons
• Calvin Presbyterian Church (Yonge and St.Clair) - group dance lessons
• Life Sport Fitness Centre (Yonge & Finch) - group dance classes
• Studio 27 (Yonge & Bloor) - group dance classes and private lessons
• Ritmo Flamenco Dance Studio (College & Spadina) - group dance lessons
• Mad for Dance Studio (University & King) - group dance lessons
• Violetta's Dance Place (Dufferin & Glencairn) - group dance classes and parties


The following are not used for Fall 2003


• Estonian House (Danforth & Broadview) - group dance classes - not currently used
• Granite Club (Bayview & Lawrence) - group dance classes - not currently used
• Kingston Road United Church (Kingston Rd & Victoria Park) - group dance classes - not currently used

Practice Sessions recommended by Toronto Dance

We are currently recommending the following practice sessions for Toronto Dance students. These are ideal for beginner dancers who have taken at least a few hours of dance classes. Please note, these are not lessons/classes but just a place to practice.

Toronto Dance, the organizers and the premise are not responsible for any loss or injury incurred during the practices.

The Sat 4-6pm Salsa practice is run by students from various dance students and is non-profit. The cost is determined by the cost of the room rental divided by the number of people in attendance that week. Click here to see more information about the non-profit event.

Contact us about other places for Latin-Ballroom practices.

Class/Lesson Registration

Pre-registration before attending the classes is required. The registration forms for the Fall 2003 classes are available. You may also consider buying a gift certificate.

Those wishing to take 2 or more classes during the same term get additional discounts for certain classes:

• $9 discount for the second class
• $18 discount for the third class
• Contact us if you are taking more classes
• Contact us if you introduce friends who register
