Outing for Latin-Ballroom students Fri 2005-06-03

There is an official outing Fri Jun 3 to Westway Club for Latin-Ballroom students at all levels. This is your end-of-term dance outing. Please check your emails for details.

Westway Club is located on 291 Evans St - click here for a map. It starts at 8:00pm. The discounted cost is $12 including a light hot meal at 10:00pm. Dress code applies - no jeans or T-shirts. Contact us if you are interested in joining us.

Outing for Salsa-Nightclub students Fri 2005-05-13

There is an official outing Fri May 13 for Salsa-Nightclub students at all levels. It is at Plaza Flamingo.

Outing report: There were 115 Toronto Dance members and 52 guests for a total of 167 people.

Outing for Latin-Ballroom students Sat 2005-05-07

There is an official Toronto Dance-only (private) outing Sat May 7 for Latin-Ballroom students at all levels. It is at the Eastminster United Church in the big gymnasium. Please check your emails for details.

Outing report: Jean taught a Merengue lesson 8:00-8:30pm with many partner rotations. People found the dance easy to learn and met many Toronto Dance students. Students fond the 8:30-10:30pm practice very comfortable and enjoyable. There were occassional demos by Chuan and Jean Chee.

Movie preview "Mad Hot Ballroom" 2005-05-04

There is a new movie about 6000 New York City 11-year-old kids who want to compete in Latin-Ballroom competitions. The movie preview is being shown on Wed May 4 in the downtown Toronto area (Cumberland Theatre) approximately 7-9pm. Toronto Dance is giving out some free movie preview double-passes to our students. The official release date is May 20.

Come out and watch latin-ballroom competitors from around southern Ontario. The "Mississauga Open" competition is in Mississauga at the John Paul II Cultural Centre, 4300 Cawthra at Hwy 403. Click here for a map.

There is an unofficial outing Fri Apr 29 to Westway Club for Latin-Ballroom students at level 2 or higher. Please check your emails for details.

Outing report: There were 25 Toronto Dance members and 6 guests for a total of 31 people. Westway Club even provided a nice cake for Jean while we all sang "Happy Birthday" to Jean (it was Jean's birthday).

This is an outing for the Toronto Dance students taking Swing and West Coast Swing. One of our instructors, Lynn Wilsher, is teaching Hustle at a Toronto Swing Dance Society event.

Montreal Salsa Convention Thu-Sun 2005-04-21/24

There is a Salsa Congress/Convention in Montreal Thursday to Sunday Apr 21 to 24. It will in downtown Montreal (Holiday Inn Hotel and surrounding locations).

Click on the MSC website for details. A full 4-day pass is $199 until Mar 31 (regular price is $229).

Outing for Latin-Ballroom students Sat 2005-04-16

There is an official outing Sat Apr 16 to Dance Cafe for students at level 2 and higher. Please check your emails for details. It is located on Danforth, west of Chester. There is a lesson in International-style Waltz 7:30-8:30pm and general dancing 8:30pm onward.

Outing report: There were 19 Toronto Dance members and 2 guests. That was a good outing. Everyone enjoyed the nice floor and it wasn't too crowded.

Chuan and Jean Chee of Toronto Dance appeared in the new TV Series "Sexy Girl" on Life Network. They instruct the sexy Tango to Heather (the Sexy Girl) and her assistant Scott.
