Introduction

There is a new membership program run by SalsaSpot with Toronto Dance as one of the sponsors. The membership program is called "On The Spot". As a member, you get discounts from certain classes, workshops, dance venues. The cost is the membership is $20 (includes GST) per year. However, for those who purchase a membership in 2003, it will last until Dec 31, 2004.

Examples of discounts include 10% off (regularly priced) Toronto Dance group classes, free entry into Lula Lounge on Mondays, free entry into El Rancho and Plaza Flamingo, discounts off shoes, etc.

Benefits

At Toronto Dance, you can get 10% off regularly priced group classes (not combinable with any other discounts - past Toronto Dance students normally get approx 10-20% off future classes). Stay tuned for additional discounts.

Several Salsa nightclubs are offering free/discounted entry for men and women:

• El Rancho: $1 entry Thurs to Sun before 10:30pm (normally $10 - dance lesson not included for the $1), line by-pass
• Lula Lounge: free entry Mon before 10pm (normally $5), line by-pass, 15% off entrees (max 2 per card)
• Plaza Flamingo: $1 (coat check) Fri to Sat before 10:30pm (normally $10 - dance lesson not included for the $1), line by-pass
• Acrobat Lounge: 20% off entry Tues and Fri (except on special occassions), line by-pass
• Red Violin: (Fri only) $8 (normally $10)

• 15% discount for bioenergy treatments from Energy Clinic

Conditions

Here are a summary of a few conditions:

• A member is entitled to all benefits during the annual membership term as seen on card (currently set at Dec 2004)
• The membership card and benefits are non-transferrable
• The discounts are not combinable with any other discounts

For Toronto Dance group classes, the 10% discount only applies to dance classes exclusively run by Toronto Dance, which are usually 7 or 9 week courses. These are the Latin-Ballroom, Salsa-Nightclub, and Swing lessons. Toronto Dance does run some classes in partnership with other companies - the discount doesn't apply to those classes unless otherwise stated.

Membership Application

Click here for the application form. You may bring in the form with a cheque or cash to a Toronto Dance class or head office. Alternatively, you may mail it directly to Salsa Spot. Toronto Dance may have some cards available for sale.
